The Absolutely true diary of a part-time indian

I visited the YALSA website and saw some really great books I then went to Borders and perused their shelves. They actually had a table of new and bestselling books for young adult’s right in the front of the store. I scanned through several books and picked one up. I also ventured into the stacks and found some more that seemed quite interesting. Before I knew it I had too many books in my hands. I choose a few but forgot to look at the copyright on the one and that was out. But the others looked promising. One was already chosen so the last one I had was it. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexi is written in a form which has a quirky overtone that I found very interesting. The book also samples various illustrations which follow the characters entries.  After reading the synopsis on the back and viewing the front cover I wanted to discover more about this character and his plight in life.  The first line defiantly draws the reader in and makes you want to read more. “I was born with water on the brain.” I also wasn’t sure if the author was writing this as an autobiography or if it had some biographical connection to his adolescent years. I wanted to find out more about the author.
